Unboxing: #Altheaturns1 Birthday Box

Salam everyone!
Remember my last post on Althea's birthday bash (view here)? It was one hell of a fun day! Well just a refresher; Althea is an online platform for beauty lovers to shop skincare and cosmetic products imported from Korea. Yes, Korea! I know you girls love everything Korean, right? They have brands like 3CE, April Skin, Laneige, Tony Moly, Innisfree, Banila Co, Missha and more! And by more I mean, loads more!

And these are what I got from in conjunction with Althea turns #1 birthday! Yay, unboxing time ^_^

I know, I kind of went overboard with the purchase here LOL! I blame Althea for having and bringing awesome brands from Korea right to our doorsteps with fast delivery. 100% happy with my purchase and I urge you girls to check out their website and splurge, splurge, splurge, splurge!!

Let's start with Skincare. I bought the Petitfee Gold EGF Eye & Spot Patch. Petitfee also carries Eye & Spot Patch in Ruby Rose and Black Pearl. Ruby Rose is to keep your skin healthy and youthful while the Black Pearl is to give intense moisture to the eyes. The onne that I got helps to firm up the eyes. Remember, prevention is key hehe. It's on sale from RM70 to RM27! Yes, 61% off discount. Get it now!

I also got the best seller item from Guerisson, their Guerisson 9 Complex Cream. Hehe bought it mostly cause I saw it almost everywhere and it got so many reviews too! This moisturizer contains Horse oil and it claims to maintain long lasting moisturizing effect for 72 hours and helps improve skin resilience excellently and strengthens the skin tension. From RM138 to RM46! 66% off tunggu apa lagiiiiiii.

Another best seller item that I bought is Banila Co Primer in Classic Matte. A lot of people raved about this and I just had to give it a try. It comes in three choices; Hydrating, Classic & Classic Matte. Being an oily girl, I just gotta pick Classic Matte. It doesn't make my makeup "cracked" once applied like some mattifying primer I know. Next purchase, hydrating! hihi. From RM99 to RM55 (44% off)!

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream is the shiz guys! If you haven't tried it, you really should! Me and this BB Cream go way back. I remembered back in the days when there were only a few famous Asian Beauty Youtuber around and they were promoting Missha BB Cream and  Skin69 Super+ Bleblesh BB Cream in Pink. Once I found out Althea carries this brand, I just gotta buy! From RM60 to RM47! 21% off guys please get this now don't delay! hehe.

Another base that everyone is raving about all over FB and Insta is the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion! Saw a lot of Instashops and shops selling questionable makeup brands at GM, Klang selling this that got me questioned the authenticity of the product. But fret not, at, you never have to question the authenticity of the products sold there as they are all 100% guaranteed authentic! From RM109 to RM55. 49% OFF!

The last two items I got are the Witch's Pouch Selfie Fix Pigment! Got them in 01 Like that & 04 Push Star and OMG guys, this Selfie Fix Pigment is life! If you guys are planning to get them, please just get all 4! Worth your money and they are extremely gorgeous! P/s: I already purchased the remaining 2 HAHAHA. From RM51 to RM20! With 60% off mana tak bungkus semua :p

I said it earlier and I'm going to say it again, I'm extremely happy with my purchases! And seriously guys, with all these discounts

Review: The Face Shop The Therapy First Serum

Salam everyone!

Age is indeed just a number but that doesn't mean we can take our skin lightly. Prevention is always key. And that's why I'm taking a step ahead and preventing it now hehe cause it's never too early! Introducing, The Therapy First Serum from The Face Shop! The latest addiction to The Therapy range alongside The Therapy Moisture Blending Cream.

For your info, The Therapy range is an European blending formula-based skincare. It's formulated with anti-aging effect that uses rich mineral and blue algae that contains high anti-oxidant that helps in restoring our skin's natural radiance!

This serum is the first step to our skincare regime after cleansing. I got to be honest here, my skincare steps were always like this; Cleanser > Toner > Serum and so on. It was a bit hard to get used to but I kind of prefer the new way better. The First Serum contains Thalassotherapy essential water that gives so much benefits to our skin. Such as anti-aging effect and extra protection to our skin from hot weather and air-pollutions. And did you know that it contain 100x more mineral than Evian mineral water? Crazy amazing!

Not only does the First Serum helps in keeping us young and radiant with it's blending formula with Crystal particles and essential oils, it also helps in boosting hydrating to our skin as well as better absorption of other products after. That's why it's best to use it first right after cleansing. It also acts as an exfoliant when use together with The Therapy Green Tea cotton pad. Cool huh?

How to use it? Pump out 1 or 2 times and apply to our skin by following our skin texture outward. There are so many ways of using this serum. You can use it as face mist (my fave! perfect for that extra hydration boost under a hot blazing sun!), massage gel and even face pack! I feel relaxed when using it as my skin really enjoys the water goodness.

I apply the The Therapy Moisture Blending Cream right after and it makes my skin even more glowing and hydrated. This moisturizer is a double layer formula mixed with essential oils (Sandalwood, Avocado & Palmarosa) and rich moisture cream. It also uses the Thalassotherapy essential water.

Overall, I really enjoy adding these two to my skincare regime. They have so many benefits and they keep my skin fresh and hydrated. They also help a lot in improving my skin texture and smoothness of my makeup. They make my foundation easier to blend hehe the perfect prep! Recommends for normal to dry skin. If you have oily skin or acne prone like me, it's best if we cure our acne first as the First Serum is nourishing enough to cause more breakouts. But it varies from person to person hehe as for me, it works fine :D

Come and give it a try. You'll love it!

Event: #Altheaturns1 Birthday Celebration!

Salam everyone!
Welcome back, Izzah After being MIA for God knows how long from attending events, I finally went to the event that I cannot miss, Althea Birthday Party! What's Althea you asked? Well, my brother asked the same thing too lol Althea's a platform that delivers fresh Korean beauty products from Korea (of course!) up to your doorsteps in just few days! Yang penting, all authentic and they always give us the best price!

It was held at Ruang, SS18 and the theme was pink! We were greeted with Korean snacks; few kinds of Kimbap (my first time trying it and it was not bad!), Bingsu Station - where we can choose any 4 flavours and top it with our preferred toppings, cool! And also various sweets and birthday cake!

The thing I love about events the most is that I get to get catch up with my blogger friends as well as meeting new friends and my internet/social media friends for the first time  The decorations of the events were so beautiful that we can actually take pictures with all sorts of background.

Not to mention, a stunning Althea-themed photobooth by Glitz & Glam Studiobooth
They'll take the photos for us and we get to keep the photos, yay!

The highlight of the event was that we get to meet the CEO in person! Meet, CEO, Mr. Frank Kang. The CEO with an #originalblusher cheeks (HAHA!) and who can sing opera! Daebak! And guess what? We were surprised by the 30-minutes shop time on their website worth RM150! All went panic since we only had 30 minutes to shop. And my Althea box came in yesterday! I managed to buy another Laneige BB Cushion Whitening since my mom just bought me the pore control version on her last trip to Korea and another two of the Selfie Pigments, yay!

The event ended with a Top 3 Best Dress Award and a surprise (yes, another surprise!) lucky draw from It's My, WondeRuci & Aromatica! All we had to do was grab any balloons behind the main stage and pop it! And I got the one from Aromatica (will review soon!).

Overall it was such a fun and happening party. Thanks Althea!! Looking forward to more events like this. Congrats again for the milestone! We will keep on supporting you as you guys are the best

Mother's Day Special - Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Mask & Kinohimitsu Bird's Nest Drink

Salam everyone!
Welcome May, welcome to my heart ❤ May is not only my birthday month but it's also the month where we celebrate and appreciate the sacrifices and love of our mother. This is the month where people usually pamper and treat their mothers more than usual. We had a family dinner last Sunday where we celebrated my brothers' beloved birthday, my birthday in advance and also Mother's Day! since it's the first Sunday of May. But I wanted to do something more of her as she seem tense lately, so I threw her a facial party! *Warning; long post!*

My Umi is a facial fanatic but she usually prefers wearing mask after sauna (we have a sauna room at home) but since she's busy sewing curtains, it was an exception. I let her relax with Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask to refresh her energy. This sheet mask in particular is made to hydrate irritated and dehydrated skin. Made from 100% pure organic cotton, each sheet contains half a bottle of soothing essence which makes it suitable for sensitive skin as well. It will leave the skin feeling smooth, refreshed and moisturized.

While chit-chatting and relaxing over our soothing mask, me and Umi shared a bottle of Kinohimitsu Bird's Nest drink. It was our first time trying a bird nest drink. 1 box contains 6 bottles. Made from 100% genuine high quality bird’s nest with America Ginseng, White Fungus and Rock Sugar, it's rich in Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) and precious nutrients. With every mouthful of the Bird’s Nest, it brings you the gift of beauty and health such as relieving fatigue and supporting respiratory health while promoting youthful, radiant and smooth complexion.

It also helps to boost immune system and increase resistance to external environmental stress with high glycoprotein content and growth factors. I can't describe the taste but to me it's not sweet nor sour nor bitter LOL. But it's actually not bad once you've tried one. I got really fascinated by the drink. You can see what's inside and what you're about to drink. You have to shake well before drinking and once opened, you gotta drink immediately; chilled or warmed.

After 25 minutes, it's time to remove our masks. With the balance essence on the mask, Umi rubbed it all over her body. Nope, she doesn't like to waste things haha. I usually just rub it all over my neck. The skin seriously feel soft and supple. It really does hydrate the skin. My skin was loving it till the next morning. Nothing but love for the mask tho! Glad Umi enjoyed our session together. Nothing beats her love.

Soothing mask ingredients: Water, Sodium hyaluronate, Butylene glycol, Peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, Dimethyl sulfone, Betaine, Natto gum, Disodium edta, Centella asiatica extract, Glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, Carbomer, Arginine, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl acetate, Panthenol, Luffa cylindrica fruit/leaf/stem extract, Althaea rosea flower extract, Aloe barbadensis leaf extract, Fragrance, Portulaca oleracea extract, Lysine hcl, Proline, Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, Acetyl methionine, Theanine, Apium graveolens (celery) extract, Brassica oleracea capitata (cabbage) leaf extract, Brassica oleracea italica (broccoli) extract, Brassica rapa (turnip) leaf extract, Daucus carota sativa (carrot) root extract, Oryza sativa (rice) bran extract, Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) fruit/leaf/stem extract

Klairs products are really good! Never disappoint. I blogged about one of their famous products before, here. Same goes to Kinohimitsu. Malaysian No #1 beauty drink I must say? It was nice to pamper my mom and drinking healthy drink together for a change

So what's your treat for your mother this year?

Review: Nour Ain Beauty Care UV Foundation

Salam everyone!
Previously, I've blogged about the Nour Ain Beauty Care Skincare (Read it here(except for the their Multi V cream) and their UV Foundation is worth reviewing considering how in love I am with it and how good it is, really. Sadly, I don't remember using their UV Foundation when I first tried the brand, 2 years ago. So rugi past Izzah! It's really good. Perfect for everyday or when you're feeling lazy or just want to look glam without looking cakey or having that thick-mask-feeling.

It's 10gm worth of product. You can buy separately for RM30 or try their trial skincare set for RM54. It comes in one shade, pink - which gives a brightening effect to your skin + a subtle glow. It's made of natural ingredients with whitening formulations and acts as a sunblock too. It claims to make the skin supple, glowy, smooth and fair naturally. It's safe to use for all skin types and non-drying at all. I wouldn't say that it's moisturizing but it certainly non-drying HAHA.

Ingredients: Ethylnexyl Methoxycinnamate, Propylene Glycol, Peg Stearate, Clclomethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Laurert7, Methyldibrono Glutaronitrile.

It smells divine and lightweight and easy to blend. It gives a sheer to light coverage and certainly not build-able. I see it more as a tinted moisturizer than a foundation. It lightens up the scars and almost covers them up fully. It does feel sticky/tacky. You can use it as a primer if you wish to use a foundation after. I normally just conceal any areas that needed a bit extra coverage. You can see how good of a coverage it gives me. I even use this for a night out makeup and I look flawless! Well not to puji diri lah kan aherher.

It serious lasts long and believe it or not, it's sweat-proof! I once washed my car in the middle of the Afternoon and I was sweaty af like my whole face was crying. Once done, I chilled for a few minutes and pat dry my face with a tissue and my foundation seriously looked untouched. If ada pun, tak noticeable pun. Just touch up powder sikit, and I look fresh balik. And that's why I love it so much. Perfect for me. And because of this, my makeup routine jadi 15 minutes je every morning instead of 45 minutes-1.5 hours. The only thing I dislike is that it makes my nose oily sangat. But the glowy part, I loike.

Nour Ain, use it to be believe it! (Ceh, cam kena sponsor pula hahahahaha)

Review: Nour Ain Beauty Care Skincare Full Set

Salam everyone!
HI! I'm back hehe. I know, it's a bit shocking of me to try local skincare of my own accord. Especially given my past experience with local skincare, Azie Kosmetik (read it here). I have tried Nour Ain before, roughly around 2 years ago but my skin was at its worst so I stopped and started consuming Accutane. If you have severe acne problem, you can do some research on Accutane and consult your local doctors on it. It's good!

But because one of my BFFs is an avid user and strong believer (HAHA HI MEDINA :P) of Nour Ain and she's fairer than me now, I got inspired to try it once again. She also managed to influence her housemates to try this brand too. Her skin shows so much improvement so tadaa! here I am now hehe. Been using it for a month now and a month is enough for me to document my thoughts and reviews. Gituu~

 Trial Set 3 in 1 - RM 54
UV Foundation - RM30      |      Night Cream - RM40       |       Toner - RM30      |       Vita - C Serum - RM22 (10ml)   RM66 (30ml)
I started with the trial set; consisting of Beauty Soap (60gm full size), UV Foundation (10gm full size) and Night Cream (5gm deluxe size). But the Night Cream only lasted me for 1 week++ so I bought the full size after that. For the soap, I cut it into smaller pieces and store it in my Clinique Soap Case from my previous Clinique Soap.

My skincare regime: I wash my face 2x a day with the Beauty Soap using my clarisonic. Then I either air-dry my face or pat it dry with a tissue. Once dry, I spray the toner evenly and pat it into my skin. For Morning, I continue my regime with Clindamycin Cream just around acne area before putting on Sunblock. I know the UV Foundation is also a sunblock in disguise but I have major trust issues with products claiming to have sunblock in it (ie: moisturizer, bb cream, etc). Only then I apply the UV Foundation. For Night, after toner, I apply the Vita-C Serum and pat in into my skin as well. I wait for it to absorb before spreading B.Liv Off With Those Heads (here) around my nose and chin. And lastly, I spread the Night Cream all over my face.

Honestly, I've never been more eager to clean my face each day as I love how clean it is. I saw improvement around Day 5 of using it. My skin is improving a lot and to see it changing positively right before me is just, Alhamdulillah :') I can now face the public with no makeup! hehe. My acne has reduced tremendously. Not that I have a lot when I started but it pops out lesser than usual inc during period. My skin becomes so smooth now, a tad fair and my scars are fading bit by bit. My skin is still oily and my pores are a bit enlarged and more visible now OMG. But everything smells nice and calming. My skin loves it so much! A must try! I even got my sister to try it too. SO IN LOVE WITH THIS BRAND! P/s: Will review the UV Foundation soon!

Where to buy it? Check your local jamu stall or search on google, FB, Carousell or Insta!

Review: NARS Audacious Lipsticks

Salam everyone!

When Nars first came out with these lipsticks, all the girls and the grandmas were crazy over it. All over Instagram I saw my blogger friends raving about it and they all bought Audrey which unfortunately at that time, Nars was only available at Pavilion so that shade was sold out. Instead, I bought (well my boyfriend actually bought for me ) these;
From left - Janet, Michiyo, Anna, Carmen & Dominique. (Anna & Dominique I bought in UK)

Hehe, sorry for them being dirty *tutup muka* I tend to travel with them because they are just so good! And the colours from the 2 pictures above got mixed up with the name picture at the bottom up there (geddit?). Following the first 2 pictures; From left -  Carmen, Anna, Michiyo, Janet and Dominique. These are just 5 out of 40 shades that they carry. And these lipsticks are so creamy, awesome colour pay-off and gives a fuller lip effect to you - no kidding! Even Temptalia gave them almost all As and only 6 Bs out of 40 shades!

You could probably tell that I use Janet (purple) the most. It's so beautiful on me! Plus, it's the least vibrant colour (before I added Anna & Dominique) I could pull off everyday. Michiyo (Pink) is just way too vibrant like a crazy Nicki Minaj pink. I wore it once during practicum on an assembly day and boyyy, bad day to test it out! HAHA.

Trust me, Michiyo looks way brighter irl but these are the colours worn on lips. Again, they are the creamiest, velvety feel, satin finish lipsticks I've ever tried. I even told my mom to get one in UK. I said that these lipsticks would blow her mind and change the way she sees lipsticks (over gila) HAHAHA but that's actually how I feel about them + they are quite long lasting. Temptalia gave Anna a B+ but to me, Michiyo is a B+. And Dominique is this beautiful purple-ly-grey shade that Idk how to style it but it's absolutely beautiful!

Review: Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Salam everyone!

I rarely blog about foundation and that's because it's hard for me to find the perfect one that suits me in Malaysia. Most of my favourite foundations are from overseas which I sayang to use since it's hard to get. I was contemplating between this and NARS Sheer Glow but I ended up getting this instead since it's easier to get at Sunway Pyramid je.

Comes in this beautiful glass bottle, it carries a standard 30ml/1.0 fl oz worth of foundation. I heard great reviews about it that's why I decided to give it a try. I wanted to get it ever since it got out but my shade was always OOS. I decided to go with the shade Nude after arguing with my boyf on which shade to get HAHAHA but turns out, my perfect match would be mixing Nude (slightly lighter for me) with Light Beige (one shade darker than Nude)

I've never tried Too Faced foundations before and I must say that I'm incredibly impressed with this. It's so flawless on skin, blurs out imperfections and easy to blend both with sponge (my fav method!) and brush. And it doesn't make me look cakey at all, buildable even when I layer 2-3 pumps. It's medium to full coverage but looks absolutely natural and lasts long!

You can see how beautiful it is even when swatched. It even covers up the mole after 2 layers. But of course, you need concealer for extra coverage but if you're going light, this is nice too. My face doesn't look cakey even with 2-3 layers, still flawless & smooth. It has a dewy/luminous glow finish so for oily skin, beware. I have combo skin so I do need to blot excessively especially that I'm extra oily now tetiba but I don't mind since it looks flawless hikhik

Infused with:
Coconut Water: To delicately replenish skin's moisture levels
Alpine Rose: To brighten skin's appearance and promote elasticity
Hyaluronic Acid: For a smoother, more youthful appearance

Overall, I really am impressed by the formulation and coverage of the foundation. It sets smoothly and flawlessly on my skin. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it for now just beware those with oily skin! Prepare your puff & blotting paper in your bag! hehe. But yeah, total head over heels for it. I gotta save up some money to buy another one in the shade Light Beige!

*Update 25/2/16* A friend told me this foundation is meant for oily combination skin but sadly for me, it gets oily on the nose. My thought would be, maybe it's actually dewy and I'm just not used to it hehe will update more!

Price: RM135 @ Sephora Nationwide
